Just over 40 years ago, on the nights of 27 and 28 November 1969, The Rolling Stones played Madison Square Garden, and brought the house down. The gigs were captured for posterity on one of the greatest live albums ever made. In 1969, Rolling Stone called the Ya Ya's show 'the best rock concert ever put on record'.
The performances captured for this release were recorded on 27–28 November 1969 at New York City's Madison Square Garden, while "Love in Vain" was recorded in Baltimore, Maryland on 26 November 1969.
The Rolling Stones are named the most successful band of all time in the Guinness Book of Records
