With a year passing since the release of the second Reggae Chartbusters volume, Trojan issued the third and ultimately final collection of best-selling singles from the preceding 12 months. The LP was arguably the strongest selection yet, with over half of the dozen tracks featured UK Top Ten hits, the highlight being the company's first ever number one, 'Double Barrel'.
This hugely impressive compilation is now augmented by key recordings from the Trojan catalogue, including the original versions of 'Trenchtown Rock', 'Johnny Too Bad', 'Cherry Oh Baby' and 'Starvation'.
Never previously made available on CD, each volume faithfully retains the style of their respective period, with booklets jam-packed with relevant ephemera and fascinating commentaries, written by original Trojan employee, Rob Bell, recalling the label's early history and the recordings that established it as the world's greatest reggae label.
