22 Dreams might be Paul Weller's ninth solo album but it feels as fresh and driven as something he could have released 25 years ago. The album is enriched by a new band line-up with a list of guest collaborators, including Little Barrie, Aziz Ibrahim, Noel Gallagher, Graham Coxon and old Jam member Steve Brookes. Although it boasts three producers (Simon Dine, Steve Cradock, Charles Rees alongside Weller), it has a captivatingly haphazard and chaotic feel. Like the shabby-chic of a thrown-together outfit that somehow just works, 22 Dreams is effortlessly cool and instantly charming.
