Very much a transitional LP with a sound moving away from the bubblegum soul that characterised their earlier hits, whilst utilizing a more mature, funk and proto- disco sound, 1973’s ‘Get It Together’ was the Jackson 5’s seventh studio album.
Produced by long time collaborators Hal Davis with Norman Whitfield, it was originally issued on Motown on 12th September 1973, it features ‘Hum Along And Dance’ and ‘You Need Love Like I Do (Don’t You)’, both of which were previously recorded by The Temptations, as well as Holland/Dozier/Holland’s ‘Reflections’, originally recorded by Diana Ross and the Supremes.
