Fleet Foxes is the self-titled debut album by the Seattle-based band. Released in 2008, the album entered the UK chart at No.11, eventually peaking at No.3 and receiving highly positive reviews, with an average of four/five stars of five. It was one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the year.
The band came to prominence in 2008 with the release of their second EP, Sun Giant, and their debut full length album Fleet Foxes. Both Sun Giant and their eponymous debut album received much critical praise from several media outlets including Rolling Stone, Uncut, Pitchfork Media, MOJO and Entertaiment Weekly who often highlighted their use of refined lyrics and vocal harmonies. The Guardian claimed it to be "a landmark in American music and an instant classic".
