Since the Ska revival of the late seventies, this up-tempo, dance-friendly music has remained in vogue the world over, with each new generation spawning new fans of the genre. Yet for all its popularity, many of the original Jamaican Ska recordings from the early to mid sixties have continued to remain unavailable.
This set goes some way to redressing the balance by featuring 40 tracks from the Island and Trojan archives, almost none of which can be found on any other current CD release. Despite the scarcity of these recordings, they are of the highest quality and feature some of the biggest talents of the original era.
