The Scissor Sisters burst onto the scene in 2003 with their hedonistic mix of glam-rock, '70s disco-chic and burlesque inspired stage shows. Their individual and eclectic sound first raised its head on their underground club smash 'Comfortably Numb', a reworking of the Pink Floyd classic, which quickly drew the attention of high-profile admirers, none more so than pop icon Elton John, who fell so in love with the band that he co-wrote three of their songs, including their UK #1 hit
'I Don't Feel Like Dancin'.
Three years after the release of Scissor Sisters’ second album and one year before its eventual release, Jake Shears found the spark for what would become the fire at the heart of their third album, Night Work, a dynamic new album with some killer dance moves and a superhuman ability to stay out later than it should do. Without skimping on tunes, Night Work is very much a nocturnal album whose soul could have come from any time. "It's a dream record," says Jake. "It's everything we haven't been able to pull off before."
