Paying with cards

We accept the following cards on our site:Visa, Visa Electron, Delta, Mastercard, Maestro, Solo and American Express.

The security of your information is protected during transmission by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you provide to us as part of the sales transaction.

When we confirm your order we will show only the last four numbers of the credit or debit card used to pay for the purchase. When processing the order and payment, we check the payment details provided are valid and then transmit the full card details, as required by the appropriate credit/debit card company. By providing those details, you consent to such checks being made. As part of these security checks, personal information provided by you may be disclosed to a registered Credit Reference Agency. They may keep a record of that information. These checks are performed by us only to confirm your identity and that the payment details provided are valid. We do not perform or ask the Credit Reference Agency to perform a credit check.

Always keep your account information private and confidential. If you use a shared computer to access this website and to purchase products, you should always make sure you sign out of your account once you have finished on the site.

We do not take any money from your account for physical items until your order has been dispatched from our warehouse unless you have chosen to pay using PayPal where payment is taken at point of order placement. We do however take payment from your account immediately when placing an order for digital items.

If you have both physical and digital items in your basket, we will take payment as per the above.

Paying with PayPal

PayPal is a safe and simple way to make online payments.

You can pay with money held in your PayPal account balance, or use PayPal to access another payment method, such as a credit card, debit card or your bank account.

Once you sign up for a PayPal account, you just need to select PayPal as your payment method when you shop at Universal Music. You will be asked to sign in to your PayPal account with your email address and password to confirm the payment. PayPal never shares your financial information with sellers or retailers.

Your payment will be taken at the point at which you place your order.

Pre-Ordering Details

We aim to dispatch newly released items a few days prior to their release date, to allow delivery as close to the release date as possible. Occasionally, prices for a pre-order may come down before the dispatch date. If the price for your pre-order is reduced before we dispatch the order, we will charge you the lower price.

We do not take any money from your account for Physical items until your order has been dispatched form our warehouse unless you have chosen to pay using PayPal where payment is taken at point of order placement.

If you have both physical and digital items in your basket, we will take payment as per the above.

VAT and international taxes

International deliveries may be subject to local import duties and taxes in the country of destination. Universal Music has no control over this, and any such charges are the sole responsibility of the purchaser and/or the recipient. We recommend that you check with your local customs officials or post office for more information regarding local importation taxes/duties that may be applicable to your order.
