The Rolling Stones' Goats Head Soup cover artwork saw Mick Jagger shot through gauzy material, creating a ghostly image that matched the band's dark lyrics. The sleeve was designed by Aubrey Powell of the cutting-edge Hipnosis agency, who also created covers for Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Here's how he remembers the day:
"The shoot was organised for 1pm and Mick and Keith turned up about 5pm and Keith was in a very bolshy mood. Storm Thorgerson and I had outlined the concept to the Stones and they were all enthusiastic - especially Mick. They were all to be centaurs and minotaurs prancing about in the photo in an Arcadian landscape, like the young bucks they were. Right up Mick's street."
The Rolling Stones are named the most successful band of all time in the Guinness Book of Records
