Following on from the critical and commercial success of 2012’s 40th anniversary edition of “Electric Warrior’ and 2013’s ‘Marc Bolan At The BBC’ box set, comes this staggering new edition of ‘Beard Of Stars’ – the last album Bolan released under his Tyrannosaurus Rex incarnation before shortening the name of the band, inventing glam rock and officially kicking off the 1970s. A similarly re-presented new version of the debut album from T.Rex will be released on the same day.
Available as a new 2CD Deluxe Edition complete with new sleeve notes from Mark Paytress, ‘Beard Of Stars’, along with its follow-up ‘T.Rex’ captures the fascinating transitional moment between Marc’s star child and boppin’ elf periods. On Disc One, the original album, comprehensively remastered in 2013, contains many Bolan aficionados favourites including ‘Great Horse’, ‘By The Light Of The Magical Moon’ and “Elemental Child’. Disc Two contains 27 songs including 12 previously unreleased home demos and 4 previously unreleased alternate takes from the Trident Studio sessions which produced the album.
