The Jam

Three angry young men from Woking, The Jam were an intrinsic part of punk's cultural tsunami but preferred sharp suits over safety pins. Influenced by Mod fashions and '60s rock, singer/songwriter Paul Weller, bassist Bruce Foxton and drummer Rick Buckler created a spleen-filled, uniquely English sound that spawned seminal albums, like All Mod Cons and Sound Affects and countless hit singles. After just a few years at the top, they were gone, quitting on a high in 1982 and leaving one of UK music's most influential legacies behind them.
