Kerry Ellis

Talent-spotted by none other than Queen lead guitarist and founding member Brian May, Kerry Ellis is already hailed as one of the most thrilling vocal talents on today's West End stage. It was almost 10 years ago as she understudied Martine McCutcheon in My Fair Lady that May first noticed her: "From the moment I first heard Kerry sing, I was entranced". The pair's professional relationship began on the Queen- inspired jukebox musical We Will Rock You: May co-writing with comedian Ben Elton and Queen drummer Roger Taylor; Kerry playing the female bohemian 'Meat'.

They stole the show performing together at the Royal Variety Show in 2008, and now their long-standing musical partnership will be immortalised in her debut album. Infused with the distinctive sound of May's legendary guitar-playing, plus some of Rock's heaviest drummers, and full orchestra, arranged by May and Steve Sidwell, Anthems is a large-scale epic so individual that it "might define a new area in music - a kind of Anthemic-Orchestral-Rock- Musical-Theatre-Fusion".
