From the Source

Featuring the playing several guitarists who were auditioning to replace Mick Taylor, 1976's Black And Blue could so easily have ended up an incongruous mish-mash of styles and sounds. Instead, it's a triumph of musical diversity brought together by that quintessential Stones energy, and has never sounded better than on this 2009 re-mastered download.

Recorded in Munich and Rotterdam, Black and Blue's creation was a chaotic process, thanks in part to the flow of guitarists auditioning for Mick Taylor's vacancy. Speaking back in 1976, Keith Richards explained, '(I had) to be in control of the band. With guitar players coming and going, I had to stop them from being jams and just put my foot down. That's probably what pushed me to not do what everyone else was doing. Now I know if I try something completely different it won't all fall to pieces anymore.'
