Here We Stand CD

The Fratellis' second album, Here We Stand, was produced by the band themselves and was released in June 2008, peaking at number five in the UK Album Charts. With the addition of a piano to complement the band's heavy guitar riffs of the first album, Here We Stand marked a slight change in direction - taking the band from their early pop-punk sound to something more in tune with stadium rock. It spawned the singles 'Mistress Mabel', 'Look Out Sunshine', and a 'A Heady Tale'.

Hailing from Glasgow, The Fratellis are made up of frontman Jon Lawler, bass guitarist Barry Wallace, and drummer Gordon 'Mince' McRory. In true Ramones style, each member of the band has adopted the Fratelli stage surname. Their rabble-rousing last-gang-in-town rock harks back to the spirit of greats-gone-by like The Clash, The Strokes, and the English Glam Rock bands from the 1970s, particularly T-Rex.

After first gigging in early 2005, The Fratellis' rise to the top of the UK pop/rock pile has been swift. They clearly also struck a chord on the live circuit with drifting ex-Libertines fans in search of another band to fall in love with. Their single, 'Chelsea Dagger', went stratospheric in the mid part of the early millennium and, in just a few short years, they have been shifting from pub rock singalong to potential stadium fillers.
If I was in another band and I heard'A Heady Tale' on the radio, I'd be seriously jealous.
