Sound Of Water sees Saint Etienne on hiatus from the self-imposed pressure of writing a top ten hit and explores their edgier side, with a more mature, minimal sound on the eight minute long masterpiece 'How We Used To Live', the ambient 'Heart Failed (in the Back of a Taxi)' and 'Boy Is Crying'.

This deluxe CD edition includes the original album and a second CD featuring b-sides, unreleased tracks and the entire Places to Visit EP, which was previously only released in the USA and Germany.
