A tirade against the plague of modern technology, Wake Up The Nation is an experimental and adventurous battle cry, featuring special guest appearances from ELOís Bev Bevan, Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine, former bassist of The Jam, Bruce Foxton, and even backing vocals from Paul Wellerís daughter, Leah.

Paul Weller says: "People say that if you're still angry at 52, you're not an angry young man, just a grumpy old git. But why should I get to a certain age and go, yeah that's OK? Why do I have to accept everything? If you don't want it, say so and if you want to kick against it, you should do that as well, whatever age you are."

Featuring the sublime songwriting that weíve come to expect from Paul, Wake Up The Nation consists of 16 tracks that pack a punch, with punk-driven guitars, ë60s Mellotron, glorious melodies, instrumental interludes and sweeping string arrangements. Not quite a Jam reunion, but as close as we may ever get, this confirms once again that Weller today is as vital a musical force as he ever was, but with plenty left to say.
