Portrait of an American Family is Marilyn Manson's debut album: a hardcore industrial metal outing produced by Nine Inch Nails mastermind and Manson mentor, Trent Reznor. The band signed to his label and arguably got their breakthrough moment courtesy of NIN's inaugural 1994-1995 arena tour.
