Hailing from Glasgow, Texas became one of the UK's biggest acts, thanks to their distinctive blend of rock, blues and dance beats. Founded some 25 years ago by songwriter Johnny McElhone, vocalist Sharleen Spiteri, guitarist Ally McErlaine and drummer Stuart Kerr, the band enjoyed a huge hit with 1989 debut album Southside before striking gold again seven years later with their smash White On Blonde, and subsequent chart-toppers, The Hush and The Greatest Hits.
I'm painfully protective about Texas and singing in the band has come to define me. We'll be back when the time is right.
