With roots dating back to 1977 and Neil Finn's elder brother's band Split Enz, Crowded House have been rocking the world for over a quarter of a century. Founding members Neil and Paul split from Split Enz on their farewell tour and recruited Nick Seymour to play bass. In their own words: "I think we tried to make ourselves even smaller by turning to acoustic, bass, snare drum, 3 part harmonising our way through lounge rooms and restaurants, busking, unplugged, whatever they ended up calling it on MTV."
Playing the smaller venues paid off: "we learnt how to draw them in, to sing together like it’s a party." Five albums on and a host of crowd pleasers like 'Don't Dream Its Over', 'Fall At Your Feet' and 'Better Be Home Soon' to their name, Crowded House are far from slowing down with new album Intriguer coming 24 years after their self-titled debut. "The intention is the same as ever: to get the people involved, to hit some heights and leave the songs hanging in the air."
